Kew Green Hotels are proud to be part of the response to support keyworkers and the NHS throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Over 20 of our properties remain partially open to support the national effort to stop the spread of Covid-19 and to offer shelter to keyworkers, the NHS, emergency services and the distribution sector.
Our teams are continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our guests and employees remains our number one priority. In recent weeks every inch of our business has adapted to the changing landscape of hospitality, including: contactless check-in and check-out with protective screens; contactless food service; grab and go breakfast; social distancing and enhanced cleaning procedures.
Non of our teams are under any obligation to work in our partially open hotels and we have been able to continue to support the national effort by launching the Kew Green Hotels Covid-19 volunteer scheme. Following the launch of this scheme we received over 500 applications 48 hours.
“We are passionate about delivering a positive experience for all of our colleagues throughout this difficult time, irrespective of whether they are at home or at work. At Kew Green we understand the impact our actions will have in the long term with our employees and we believe the way we treat our people during this time of crisis will determine their level of engagement long after the crisis has passed.” Ros Hardiman, Director of Human Resources, Kew Green Hotels
Our award-winning People Team has also joined the effort, with updates to our digital handbook “From Kew to You” addressing concerns about the pandemic, KewKids, content for parents navigating home-schooling, a stress awareness month, on-going mental health support from our trained mental health first aiders and the launch of our virtual You Fit classes on social media.
“The response from our teams has been phenomenal, from the hotels to our central teams. We have worked with our technology partners to enable home working for our meetings and events, sales, marketing, finance and people teams. We have also supplied our hotels with the latest PPE, ensuring the safest environment for everyone. Although we continue to face uncertainty, I could not be prouder of the way our company has come together to support our keyworkers.” Neil Sewell, Managing Director of Owned Properties, Kew Green Hotels
Our organisation has truly come together in these difficult and unprecedented times, proving that “We don’t need to be standing next to someone, to be by their side”
