With the vision to redefine and redesign what it means to apply to work with Kew Green Hotels, their team are proud to launch their newly developed, candidate-centric, online experience for prospective applicants.
The re-design has followed the recent appointment of Natasha Nagra, Talent Resourcing Manager for Kew Green Hotels. Natasha oversees the newly created Resourcing function that was created to enable Kew Green to anticipate changes in the employment market and implement a strategy that enables them to remain competitive in the war for talent. This will be realised by the ongoing relationships now established between Kew Green & with cutting edge, innovative organisations within the Talent Acquisition specialism, such as StartMonday and Cognisess,- all in support of Kew Green’s vision to develop a process that enables applications to move away from assessing candidates against the traditional CV.
“Assessing a candidate in the hospitality industry with a CV seems entirely counterproductive. We can teach an individual the skills required to be successful in our industry, what we can’t teach is the inherent characteristics that make those in our business outstanding. These characteristics can’t be identified on a piece of paper.” Natasha stated.
With significant investment in technology as part of the process, Kew Green intends to inspire those entering the workforce to apply, with an entirely customisable candidate journey – providing a platform to showcase their highly sort-after core characteristics through video applications, whilst also enlisting the use of gamification to offer candidates a personality profile on themselves; irrespective of the outcome of their application.
StartMonday added – “We are so excited to be working with Kew Green to enhance their application process by enabling candidates to show their personality. We’ve worked intensively to make the StartMonday Platform a fast and interactive experience for both Kew Green and their prospective applicants who will help build teams with similar core values.” Ana-Maria Rosu, Customer Success Manager at StartMonday.
Having successfully created a recruitment process that is both meaningful and engaging, candidates interested in a career with Kew Green Hotels are still able to apply using a CV if that’s their chosen method, however, they are also offered the opportunity to submit a 15 second video – the content of which is left open to them and can reflect who they are. So for instance, this may be the ideal platform for a budding Chef to showcase their latest creative dish. A further option enables candidates to play a series of short, fun, interactive games that generate a personality profile on themselves, which they can access irrespective of the outcome of their application.
Natasha continued – “Whilst we know that not every candidate isn’t going to be the right fit for Kew Green, we do want to help every candidate to learn more about themselves as part of their application journey. Candidates are investing time in applying to us and we want to give back.” Natasha Nagra, Talent Resourcing Manager at Kew Green Hotels.
“We are really happy to be working with Kew Green and their People Team – helping candidates find the right job and engaging with employees to better understand their talent and potential.
Cognisess is an end to end platform with games, assessments and surveys that objectively measure the attributes that are important to each role. We help to remove the bias from the people process so the focus is on the skills that you have and why they are relevant to your role – and not things like your age, gender, background or ethnicity.” Chris Butt CEO of Cognisess.
Kew Green Hotels identifies as an Equal Opportunities employer and this bespoke application process also pushes the boundaries of attracting a diverse and inclusive workforce and working environment; giving a true representation of life at Kew Green, before you’ve even stepped through the door.
“Here at Kew Green, we know that outstanding talent is unique to the individual. No two Kew Green employees achieve their outstanding standards of quality in the same way and not only do we encourage these differences, we celebrate our diverse talent pool. In order to be people-centred, you have to be for ‘the people’ and our candidate experience represents this; it is a reflection of who we are as much as it is about who our candidates are.” Natasha Nagra – Talent Resourcing Manager.
