The success of Kew Green Hotels Revenue School: Developing Revenue Managers of the Future

Following the centralisation of the revenue function across the vast majority of the industry, developing future Revenue Managers with the correct mind-set is crucial. This is why we launched in our very first Kew Green Revenue School 2016/17.

What does the Kew Green Revenue School look like?

Kew Green Hotels have created a one-year programme for our 4 – 6 ‘highest potential’ employees. Working alongside a mentor, these learners benefit from a blended learning approach with one-to-one training, coupled with regular masterclasses.

To celebrate the end of their programme, the learners all present an innovative project around next generation revenue management, ranging from restaurant revenue indicators to profitable restaurant selling incentive or meeting and events Yielding Technics.

I am very proud that we delivered an Outstanding Revenue School in 2016/17 and delighted to have started all over again with KGH Revenue School – Class of 2018/19; supporting more learners and hotels through the process. I am also very proud to see two successful graduates from the class of 2016/17 taking on full time position within the Revenue Team – proof of the solid succession plans we have for our people within Kew Green Hotels!

“Being part of the Kew Green Revenue School was a great experience, whilst stepping into the unknown being the first class it began daunting but provided a fantastic opportunity to learn, developing my knowledge in the field. Without graduating Revenue School I could not have seen a way to drive my career to a place that I had always strived to achieved. With the majority of Revenue Management functions being centralised, there are few roles within the industry designed for the more junior positions required to gain any experience. Revenue School gave me the skills and knowledge required to open the door for me, which enabled my step into Revenue Management from a Front Office and Reservations position.

Anael and the KGH Revenue team are 100% behind the program delivering a key support network ensuring that all learners gain the theory and practical knowledge required to become a successful Revenue Manager of the future.”
