We are delighted to announce the opening of the new ibis Styles Crewe hotel.
The site is the first Kew Green managed hotel to open its doors under the ibis Styles name and is the first of four ibis Styles hotels to be rebranded, with extensive refurbishment taking place. Three other sites – Birmingham Airport NEC, Haydock and Barnsley – are due to open this autumn, with total investment from the hotels’ owners, Carillion plc, standing at £2.5 million. These four hotels are part of a 54 strong Kew Green portfolio across the UK.
Combining historical and cultural aspects of the local area, with the unique identity and strong design-led aspects of ibis Styles hotels, the theming takes inspiration from 1920s transportation – a nod to the local Rolls Royce and Bentley factories which spearheaded the country’s car manufacturing industry. Leather upholstery and a walnut front desk greet all those who set foot inside the hotel, while fabrics are decorated with bold patterns and geometric shapes, in the design of train carriage seats.
For those who need a drink to unwind after a hard day’s travel, seats in the hotel bar are sourced from real vintage cars, while train murals and railway inspired panelled headboards adorn the bedrooms. And for those who have own Railway Children in tow, toy cars in the children’s play area allow them to let of steam, before refuelling at dinner.
Against the backdrop of cutting edge design, the hotel offers a range of modern amenities including super-speed free wifi, continental breakfast and extensive conferencing and meeting room facilities.
David Tucker, General Manager, says of the launch, “The town of Crewe has made a huge impact on transport as we know it, and therefore we felt it was only right we brought these elements to life through the craftsmanship and details on display throughout the hotel. Whether staying at the hotel on holiday, or using our conferencing and meeting room facilities, our mix of traditional design features and modern day comfort will ensure visitors may find themselves stretching out their trip longer than expected – much like the golden days of travel!”
Graham Norris, Director of Operations – Managed Hotels at Kew Green adds, “We’re thrilled to kick start our partnership with ibis Styles and linking our strong management credentials with the distinctive design ethos of ibis. Crewe has made a huge impact on transport as we know it and we therefore felt it was only right we paid homage to this in the design of the hotel. We look forward to rebranding three further hotels over the coming weeks and strengthening our offering to customers”
