Partnering with local artists to improve the Brighton skyline

Colourful makeover for the roof of Holiday Inn Brighton - Seafront

Local Brighton artists Art+Believe have brought a splash of colour to the Brighton skyline, with a brightly-coloured mural painted on the rooftop of our 18-storey Holiday Inn Brighton – Seafront hotel.

The hotel and artists invited guests to experience the art for themselves, taking local residents, hotel guests, and friends of the artists to the top of the i360 to view the mural from above. Guests were also given access to the artwork on the Holiday Inn Brighton rooftop, an exclusive experience which allowed all in attendance to truly immerse themselves in the art.

Art+Believe have previously travelled the world looking for exciting and ambitious spaces to paint, and have returned to their hometown to take on the challenge of painting a three-dimensional, 1000 square metre mural on the roof of the Holiday Inn Brighton.

The ‘Sky Gallery’ will be visible from the new British Airways i360 tower, giving Brighton residents and tourists a bird’s eye view of the artwork, and brightening up the view on a cloudy day.

Debbie Priestley, Holiday Inn Brighton’s General Manager, says, ‘We’re honoured to have our hotel transformed into an artwork by Art+Believe, and are thrilled to become a real-life piece of art for visitors to the i360 tower.’

Alex Pritchard, CEO of Kew Green Hotels says, ‘We always welcome the opportunity to work alongside local talent and communities, and are sure Art+Believe’s fantastic artwork is really going to set the Holiday Inn Brighton apart from other seafront hotels in the area.’

Daniel Doherty, co-founder of Art+Believe, says ‘We have painted spaces in many countries, from the favelas of Brazil, barrios of Colombia, neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires, and steps of Chile to the roof tops of India. We constantly challenge ourselves and ask ‘where is art possible?’ and are grateful to Kew Green Hotels for providing us with the Holiday Inn Brighton – Seafront as a space to explore our art within our hometown of Brighton.’
